Kyanite

A silicate named from the Greek kyanos, “dark blue,” for its beautiful color. Kyanite can also be green, black, or colorless, but most forms as blue elongated flattened blades. Kyanite is a major raw material for the aluminum silicate mullite, which is used in spark plugs and heat resistant porcelains. Metaphysically, the stone is used for communication and bridging relationships. Major deposits can be found in Brazil, Switzerland, and the USA.
