CLASSES at Let It Bead

A new and improved assortment of classes to enhance your beading prowess! 

One of our two most basic classes is offered every Saturday at 11:00am.  The rest, unless dated below, are scheduled upon request -- we will schedule a class at a time convenient for you!  Please look over the list, choose a class, and call us to register.  Classes require a minimum of two students.  We encourage you to sign up a beading companion to come along with you!

Every Saturday 11am – 1pm either Basic Beading OR Basic Wire Manipulation

 

BASIC BEADING  $25  11am – 1pm every other Saturday (4/19, 5/3, 5/17, 5/31, 6/14, 6/28)

Learn a no-nonsense approach to the basics of beading.  We teach you about all the materials and techniques needed to create beautiful necklaces, bracelets, and earrings – plus share our expertise in design and color!  You will handcraft a bracelet and earrings of your own design to take home.  What better introduction to creating treasures of a lifetime?

BASIC WIRE MANIPULATION  $25  11am – 1pm every other Sat. (4/12, 4/26, 5/10, 5/24, 6/7, 6/21)

This class teaches all the basic techniques for manipulating wire:  reinforced loops, incorporating beads into a chain, and embellishing with wire.  Come immerse yourself in the wonderful world of wire -- it’s only the beginning! 

Note:  This is a technique class only. 

 

CRYSTAL and PEARL WEAVE BRACELET  $40  May 3 and May 17 @ 1:30 – 3:30pm

Learn to weave Swarovski crystals, freshwater pearls and seed beads into an adorable cuff which may remind you of a DNA strand.

WIRE JIG CHANDELIER EARRINGS  $40  May 10 and May 24 @ 1:30 – 3:30pm

Learn to use the wire jig to create gorgeous chandelier earrings, using only wire!  *Prerequisite:  Basic Wire Manipulation

We offer pre-fab kits for an additional $30, or you may bring your own supplies:

 

BASIC SILK KNOTTING  2 Hours  $25

Learn how to knot and finish a necklace using either French wire or clamshells to attach a clasp.  Beads may be knotted continuously or in a “floating” presentation.  A pendant may also be added.  

 

BEADED DESIGNS  2 Hours  $25

Learn basic elements of design and construction in this beginning beading class. You will learn how to arrange beads, string, crimp for a necklace and bracelet and finishing touches. You will leave class with a beautiful necklace and/or bracelet, along with your new skills!  Choose one of the following options:

 

 

INTRO TO LOOMWORK 2 Hours  $35 *includes loom*

Learn the fundamentals of using the proper materials, threading, beading and pattern design on a bead loom.

 

MULTI-STRAND ADVANCED BEADING  2 Hours  $25

This is a great follow-up to our Basic Beading class, where students can go a step further and create more complicated designs with multiple strands.  You can experiment going from one to several strands for an interesting look, up to 20 strands, with ease!  In this class you will also learn how to balance different color schemes, as well as the all-important professional ways to end multiple strand pieces, including using cones.

PEYOTE STITCHING  2 Hours  $25

Learn the basic off-loom seed-beading stitches that are the basis for more advanced beadwork designs. Each class will be tailored to the specific requests of the students.

 

DECORATE YOUR DOG OR CAT  2 Hours  $25

We aren't the only ones who need a bit of pampering.  Decorate your pups’ or kitties’ necks with a one-of-a-kind piece that shows how much you love them!

 

RECYCLE YOUR OLD JEWELRY AND MAKE A MASTERPIECE  2 Hours  $25

Do you have a drawer full of old jewelry that you never wear but would love to make into a piece of art?  This class teaches you how to expand your creative thinking and design a beautiful masterpiece from something that was previously collecting dust.

 

ROSARY BEAD or LINKS-AND-CHAIN NECKLACE  2 Hours  $25

Make a personalized rosary for yourself or as a unique gift for someone else. You may also apply the same skills to make a contemporary necklace with lengths of chain linked together with beads on wire.

 

PAPER BEAD MAKING  2 Hours  $25

Create interesting one-of-a-kind beads, handcrafted by you!

BASIC EARRINGS  1 Hour  $15

Use ear wires, head pins, and eye pins to make a pair of unique earrings. Learn to make both a simple loop and a wrapped loop for a professional and secure finish.  Perfect for beginners.

 

BASIC BRACELET  1 Hour  $15

Learn basic elements of design and construction in this beginning beading class. You'll learn how to arrange beads, string, and crimp. 

 

BOOKMARKS  1 Hour  $12.50

A fun and simple class where you learn to create bookmarks out of various materials.  Fun for young and old.  Great for gifts!

 

WINE TAGS  1 Hour  $12.50

Learn a simple and easy way to dress up your wine glasses and complement your party -- much easier for to figure out whose glass is whose!

 

PENDANTS  1 Hour  $15

Create a centerpiece that everyone will ogle all over.

*Prerequisite:  Basic Wire Manipulation

 

WATCH BAND  1 Hour  $15

Revamp your watch with a show-stopping beaded watch band.

 

ESSENCE OF ELASTIC 1 Hour  $12.50

Ever wrestle with elastic? Either the knot doesn't hold or it breaks right away. This class goes over all you could ever need to know about the ever-so fussy elastic. Learn about the proper products, what beads you can and cannot use, the correct knots, and finishing secrets.

 

BIRTHSTONE BRACELET 1 Hour  $15

Design an adorable birthstone bracelet for the newborn in your life.

 

PRIVATE LESSONS $35/hour/person

For those that would prefer more personal attention, we offer private versions of all of our classes.  We also set up private classes for those wanting to do a specific project requiring step-by-step assistance.
